My career in business began when I was five, selling peach trees door-to-door in my native Georgia. Those seeds grew into a career in the financial services industry, one I've enjoyed for over forty-five years. During that time, I've had the dual privilege of helping clients begin serious financial plans, as well as seeing those plans bear fruit.
My first client, an engineer who began working with me when I was just 23, recently retired to his dream of Estes Park after so many years of planning for it. Stories like that are why I love this business. I have helped clients prepare for retirement, purchase or sell a business, and plan for college and aging parents. My strong background in insurance has also been helpful to clients at every stage of my career.
For me, serendipitously, looking back is a bit like looking forward because I've had a chance to watch my son, Toby, grow in the business alongside me. His competence and curiosity have given clients the confidence to refer their own children as our business helps another generation make wise decisions.
I have lived in Kansas City all of my adult life, and am proud to call myself a Jayhawk. This is the city where I have bought homes, built a family, and lived with my wife, Marti, for the last five decades. Toby went to Barstow and William Jewell and I recently heard him describe himself as Midwestern, a description I take some credit for. We are excited to introduce ourselves to you and to get a chance to learn your story!
